draftee

Involuntary military recruit

A draftee is someone who has been drafted—conscripted into military service rather than volunteering.

The term is most associated with wartime mobilization: My grandfather was a draftee in World War II.

Draftee can also refer to someone selected in a sports draft, though this usage is less common than the military sense.
