double-tree

Paired horse connector

A double-tree is a horizontal bar or crosspiece in horse-drawn equipment to which two singletrees are attached, allowing a pair of horses to pull together.

The singletrees connect to the harness of each horse, while the double-tree connects to the wagon, plow, or other implement being drawn.
