clevis

Pin-through coupling link

A clevis is a U-shaped metal fitting with holes in each arm through which a pin or bolt passes, used to connect a chain, rod, or other component to machinery or a structure.

Common in agricultural equipment, towing hitches, and rigging: The plow attached to the tractor via a clevis pin.

The design allows pivoting movement at the connection point.
