cosmodrome
Space launch site
A cosmodrome is a launch facility for spacecraft, the Russian equivalent of a spaceport or rocket launch site.
The term comes from Russian space program terminology: the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
It typically refers to Soviet or Russian facilities, though the word occasionally applies to launch sites elsewhere.
