train station

Platform waiting area

A train station is a place where passenger trains stop to let people board and disembark.

Stations range from simple platforms with a shelter to grand urban terminals.

The term is interchangeable with railway station (British) or railroad station (American), though train station has become the most common in everyday speech: I'll meet you at the train station.
