continuity error
Disappearing coffee cup
A continuity error is a mistake in a film, television show, or other narrative where details change inconsistently between shots or scenes—a character's glass that was half-full is suddenly empty, a wound switches sides, or the sun's position jumps.
These errors slip past during editing when scenes are filmed out of sequence.
Eagle-eyed viewers spotted a continuity error: her hair is up in one shot and down in the next.
