conkers

British playground game

Conkers is a British children's game in which players swing horse chestnuts on strings, trying to smash their opponent's nut.

The chestnuts themselves are also called conkers.

Players take turns striking until one conker breaks: My conker's a sixer—it's beaten six others.

The game is a schoolyard autumn tradition in Britain.
