September

After August comes

September is the ninth month of the year, marking the transition from summer to fall in the Northern Hemisphere.

The name reflects an older Roman calendar where it was the seventh month (from Latin *septem*, seven).

September brings the start of the school year in many countries and contains the autumn equinox: We're moving in September.
