rounders

Bat-and-ball game

Rounders is a British bat-and-ball game played between two teams, similar to baseball but with a smaller bat held in one hand and a softer ball.

Players hit the ball and run around four posts (bases) to score a rounder.

It's traditionally played in schools and informally in parks: We played rounders in PE class.

The game is considered a precursor to baseball.
