communicant
One receiving sacrament
A communicant is a person who receives communion in a Christian church, or more broadly, a member of a church entitled to receive it.
The word emphasizes active participation in religious rites: The priest distributed wafers to the communicants.
Outside religious contexts, communicant occasionally means someone who communicates or imparts information, though this use is rare.
