churchman

Man of cloth

A churchman is a male member of the clergy, or more broadly, a man actively involved in church affairs.

The term often implies someone of rank or influence within religious institutions: He was a prominent churchman in the Anglican tradition.

It can also describe a man devoted to the interests and practices of his church, as distinct from secular concerns.
