unbeliever
Doubter of doctrine
An unbeliever is someone who does not accept a particular religious faith, especially when viewed from the perspective of believers.
The term carries the assumption that belief is the default or correct position: The preacher warned against marrying unbelievers.
In casual use, it can describe anyone who doubts something others accept: I was an unbeliever until I tried the restaurant myself.
