collegiate church
Clergy chapter church
A collegiate church is a church served by a chapter of canons or clergy who share administrative duties, but which is not a cathedral—it has no bishop's seat.
These were common in medieval Europe, often endowed by wealthy patrons: The collegiate church of St. Mary housed twelve canons who sang daily offices.
