glebe
Vicar's allotted acreage
Glebe is land belonging to a parish church, especially land assigned to support a clergyman.
The word is archaic in general use but survives in legal and ecclesiastical contexts, and in place names: Glebe Road, the Glebe.
By extension, glebe can mean soil or earth poetically, though this sense is rare.
