clipart
Ready-made illustrations
Clipart is pre-made images designed to be inserted into documents, presentations, or other media.
The term emerged with desktop publishing software, when users could "clip" graphics from collections and paste them into projects.
Clipart tends toward simple, generic illustrations—office workers, handshakes, globes—often with a dated or cheesy quality: The presentation was full of terrible clipart.
