channel surf
Skip through programs
Channel surf is to flip rapidly through television channels, sampling what's on without committing to any program.
The practice became common with remote controls: I spent an hour channel surfing but couldn't find anything worth watching.
By extension, it can describe browsing quickly through any media options.
