campsites
Where tents go
Campsites are designated areas where people set up tents, park RVs, or otherwise establish temporary outdoor accommodations for sleeping.
They range from primitive spots in the backcountry with no amenities to developed sites with electricity, water hookups, and bathrooms.
We reserved a campsite near the lake for the long weekend.
The word functions as the countable unit of campgrounds, which contain multiple campsites.
