chasing
In hot pursuit
Chasing is pursuing something or someone—running after prey, following a lead, going after a goal.
You chase what moves away or what you want to catch: The dog spent the afternoon chasing squirrels.
To chase is also to drive away: She chased the raccoons from the garden.
In metalwork, chasing is a technique of embossing or engraving decorative patterns into metal surfaces.
