brassard
Arm badge worn
A brassard is a band worn around the upper arm, typically as an identifying badge or symbol of authority.
Military personnel wear brassards to indicate unit, rank, or special duty—military police often wear them.
The term also applies to a piece of armor protecting the upper arm: The knight's brassard deflected the blow.
