boxcar

Enclosed freight wagon

A boxcar is a fully enclosed railroad freight car with sliding doors on the sides, used for transporting goods that need protection from weather.

The rectangular shape lends itself to figurative use: boxcar numbers or boxcar figures are very large amounts, from the image of freight cars lined up in a long train.

In dice games, boxcars means double sixes.
