tramp
Homeless itinerant wanderer
Tramp has meanings connected to heavy or aimless walking.
To tramp is to walk with firm, heavy steps: We tramped through the snow.
A tramp is also a person without a fixed home who wanders from place to place, often begging—more derogatory than "homeless." The word extends to a cargo ship without a fixed route.
In dated slang, tramp is a derogatory term for a promiscuous woman: They called her a tramp.
A tramp stamp is a tattoo on the lower back, typically on a woman.
