Bulk freight carrier
A hopper car is a railroad freight car designed to carry loose bulk materials—grain, coal, gravel, ore.
The cargo loads through openings at the top and discharges through hoppers (funnel-shaped doors) at the bottom, allowing gravity to empty the car without manual unloading.
