beta waves
Active mind's frequency
Beta waves are brain waves oscillating at 13–30 cycles per second, associated with normal waking consciousness, active thinking, and concentration.
They dominate when you're alert, engaged in problem-solving, or focused on a task.
Higher beta activity correlates with anxiety or stress; lower ranges indicate calm attentiveness.
Contrast with the slower alpha waves of relaxation.
