gamma waves
Highest frequency brainwaves
Gamma waves are the fastest brainwave patterns, cycling at roughly 30 to 100 times per second.
Neuroscientists associate them with heightened mental activity—concentration, problem-solving, and moments of insight.
In meditation research, experienced practitioners show elevated gamma activity during states of focused awareness.
The EEG showed increased gamma waves during the cognitive task.
