overactivation
Too much activation
Overactivation is excessive stimulation or triggering of a system, process, or response beyond normal or healthy levels.
The term appears most often in medical and psychological contexts: overactivation of the immune system, overactivation of the stress response, overactivation of certain brain regions.
Chronic overactivation of the amygdala can contribute to anxiety disorders.
