bailee

Holds another's goods

A bailee is a person or entity that temporarily holds someone else's property.

The term is legal: when you leave your car with a valet or store goods in a warehouse, the valet or warehouse becomes the bailee, responsible for the property's safekeeping until it's returned.

The bailee is liable for any damage caused by negligence.
