pledgor
Collateral provider legally
A pledgor is someone who pledges property as security for a debt or obligation.
The term appears in legal and financial contexts where assets are put up as collateral: The pledgor retains ownership but grants the lender rights to the property if the loan defaults.
The recipient of the pledge is the pledgee.
