autoexposure

Camera's light automation

Autoexposure is a camera feature that automatically adjusts settings like shutter speed and aperture to achieve proper light levels in a photograph.

Most modern cameras and smartphones use autoexposure by default, though photographers can override it for creative control: I switched to manual because the autoexposure kept blowing out the highlights.
