expose
Bring to light
Expose means to uncover or make visible something that was hidden or protected.
You expose skin by removing clothing, expose film by letting in light, expose a lie by revealing truth.
To expose someone to something is to subject them to it: children exposed to violence, patients exposed to the virus.
An exposé (with the accent) is a journalistic revelation of wrongdoing.
To expose oneself is to display one's genitals publicly—a criminal act in most jurisdictions.
