artboard
Illustrator's working area
An artboard is a defined workspace within digital design software where graphics, layouts, and other visual elements are created and arranged.
Programs like Adobe Illustrator and Figma allow designers to set up multiple artboards in a single document, each representing a separate page, screen, or design variation.
I created three artboards for the mobile, tablet, and desktop versions of the homepage.
The term borrows from the physical boards artists traditionally used as rigid surfaces for mounting paper or working on illustrations.
