angles
Protractor's measured figures
Angles are the spaces formed where two lines or surfaces meet, measured in degrees: a 45-degree angle, a right angle.
The word extends to corners and perspectives: We photographed the building from every angle.
To angle something is to tilt or position it: She angled the lamp toward her book.
To angle for something is to try to obtain it indirectly: He's angling for a promotion.
As a verb without an object, to angle means to fish with a hook and line. (Capitalized Angles refers to the Germanic tribe.)
