POV

Narrative vantage abbreviation

POV is an abbreviation for point of view—the perspective from which something is seen or narrated.

In film and photography, POV describes shots that show what a character sees: a POV shot from the killer's perspective.

In writing, POV refers to narrative voice: first person, third person, omniscient.

The term also appears in discussions and debates to mean someone's opinion or stance: From my POV, the deal makes sense. (Lowercase pov is the social media variant.)
