right triangle

Hypotenuse-having shape

A right triangle is a triangle containing one 90-degree angle.

The side opposite the right angle is called the hypotenuse—always the longest side.

The Pythagorean theorem describes the relationship between the sides: the square of the hypotenuse equals the sum of the squares of the other two sides.
