DDR has two primary meanings.
In computing, DDR stands for Double Data Rate, a type of computer memory that transfers data twice per clock cycle: This motherboard supports DDR5 RAM.
DDR is also the common abbreviation for Dance Dance Revolution, the rhythm video game where players step on arrows in time with music: We spent hours at the DDR machine.
Historically, DDR was the German abbreviation for Deutsche Demokratische Republik, the official name of East Germany from 1949 to 1990.
