advice

Words of guidance

Advice is most commonly used with verbs of giving, receiving, seeking, and following because that’s what people do with it.

Advice has a predictable relationship with its related verb advise for British spellers who have other such pairs, such as license and licence, but this rule does not hold in U.S.

English.

Advice does not have a plural, so if you need to break it into separate bits, the phrase piece of advice comes in handy.
