Wells Fargo

Red stagecoach lender

Wells Fargo is an American multinational bank and financial services company, one of the largest in the United States.

Founded during the California Gold Rush to provide banking and express delivery services, it became synonymous with stagecoach transport across the American West.

The stagecoach remains the company's logo.

In contemporary usage, Wells Fargo appears frequently in discussions of retail banking and, since 2016, corporate scandal—the company created millions of fraudulent accounts without customer consent.
