Vitruvian Man
Circle-and-square anatomy
Vitruvian Man is Leonardo da Vinci's famous drawing of a nude male figure inscribed in both a circle and a square, illustrating the ideal proportions of the human body as described by the Roman architect Vitruvius.
The image has become a symbol of Renaissance humanism and the intersection of art and science: The Vitruvian Man appears on Italian euro coins.
