ideal form
Platonic essence itself
Ideal form is a philosophical concept from Plato: the perfect, unchanging essence of a thing that exists beyond the physical world.
Physical chairs are imperfect copies of the ideal form of "chair." The term extends to any theoretical perfect version: The architect envisioned the ideal form of the building before compromising with reality.
In art and aesthetics, ideal form refers to perfected representations of the human body or other subjects.
