Belarusians
Lukashenko's governed people
Belarusians are the people of Belarus, a landlocked country in Eastern Europe bordered by Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania.
The term covers both citizens of Belarus and members of the East Slavic ethnic group native to the region: Belarusians have maintained their cultural traditions despite centuries of foreign rule.
The Belarusian language is closely related to Russian and Ukrainian.
