Roman temple
Classical columned shrine
A Roman temple is a building dedicated to the worship of gods in ancient Rome, typically featuring a raised platform, front steps, and a columned portico.
Unlike Greek temples, which were meant to be viewed from all sides, Roman temples emphasized a dramatic frontal approach.
The Pantheon remains the best-preserved Roman temple.
