Land of Sikhs
Punjab is a region in South Asia, divided between India and Pakistan since 1947.
The Indian state of Punjab and Pakistan's Punjab province together form a fertile agricultural area watered by five rivers—the name itself means "land of five rivers" in Persian.
The region is the historical homeland of Sikhism and has a distinct cultural identity marked by Punjabi language, bhangra music, and agricultural traditions.
My grandparents emigrated from Punjab in the 1970s.
