Oreo
Twist-apart treat
Oreo is a brand of sandwich cookie—two chocolate wafers with sweet cream filling between them.
The name has become somewhat generic for this style of cookie.
As a slur, Oreo describes a Black person perceived as acting white—black on the outside, white on the inside: They called him an Oreo for how he talked.
The term is offensive whether used by outsiders or within Black communities.
