fried oreos
Deep-fried sandwich cookies
Fried Oreos are Oreo cookies dipped in batter and deep-fried, typically served at carnivals, fairs, and boardwalks.
The hot oil transforms the cookie into something gooey inside with a crispy exterior, often dusted with powdered sugar: We got fried Oreos at the state fair.
Part of a broader American tradition of deep-frying unlikely foods.
