Macedonians
Northern Greek inhabitants
Macedonians are people from Macedonia—either the modern Republic of North Macedonia in the Balkans or the ancient kingdom of Philip II and Alexander the Great.
The term can also refer to residents of the Greek region of Macedonia, which creates ongoing political tension over who gets to claim the name.
As an adjective, Macedonian describes things relating to these places or peoples: Macedonian cuisine, the Macedonian language.
