Uganda

Kenya's western neighbor

Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa, bordered by Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and South Sudan.

Once a British protectorate, it gained independence in 1962.

The country is known for Lake Victoria, the source of the Nile, and a troubled political history including Idi Amin's brutal regime in the 1970s.
