Ghanaians
Gold Coast descendants
Ghanaians are the people of Ghana, a West African country on the Gulf of Guinea.
The term covers both citizens and those of Ghanaian descent: Ghanaians abroad maintain strong ties to home.
Ghana gained independence from Britain in 1957, becoming the first sub-Saharan African country to do so.
