Galápagos
Tortoise evolution laboratory
Galápagos refers to the archipelago of volcanic islands in the Pacific Ocean, part of Ecuador, famous for their unique wildlife and their role in Charles Darwin's development of evolutionary theory.
The name, Spanish for "tortoises," comes from the giant tortoises native to the islands.
We saw blue-footed boobies in the Galápagos.
