eradication
Wiping something out
Eradication is complete elimination or destruction—wiping something out entirely.
The word applies most often to diseases, pests, or social problems: the eradication of smallpox, efforts toward poverty eradication.
Unlike control or reduction, eradication implies total removal with no trace remaining.
