Falklands

British territory, disputed

The Falklands are a group of islands in the South Atlantic Ocean, a British overseas territory also claimed by Argentina, which calls them the Malvinas.

The 1982 Falklands War between Britain and Argentina cemented their place in geopolitical discourse: The Falklands dispute remains unresolved.

Residents are called Falkland Islanders or informally Kelpers.
