king penguin
Second-largest flightless seabird
A king penguin is a large Antarctic seabird, second in size only to the emperor penguin.
King penguins have distinctive orange-gold patches on the sides of their heads and upper chest.
They breed on subantarctic islands rather than the Antarctic continent itself: We watched king penguins waddle across the beach in South Georgia.
